Dr Gbanaibolou Jombo leads with a vision for a reliable, and safer engineering systems, where technical excellence and inclusive education shape career-ready professionals and future-facing technical and vocational skills.
As an educational leader, chartered engineer (CEng MIMechE) and senior fellow of higher education academy (SFHEA), I am dedicated to advancing knowledge, nurturing talent, and improving practice in engineering education and applied research. I bring experience as a Senior Lecturer, Programme Leader, Academic Board Member, and External Examiner across multiple UK higher education institutions, contributing to curriculum development, academic governance, and academic quality assurance.
My technical expertise centres on the reliability and performance of engineering systems, with a focus on condition monitoring, structural health monitoring, and noise and vibration control. Through impactful research and consultancy, I support industry partners in solving complex operational challenges.
I work to bridge academic insight with practical applications, supervising research, shaping research programmes, fostering collaboration, and delivering invited talks to industry and professional societies.
By combining educational leadership with deep technical expertise, I aim to foster a future where learning drives innovation and an engineering practice that delivers sustainable value to society.
